Frozen Lime Asia Attends Key Travel Fairs in the Region

Makes contact with friends old and new in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia!

The past couple of weeks have been busy ones for Frozen Lime Asia. There have been several key travel trade and consumer fairs held during this busy selling period for travel, and Team FLA was actively present!

Let’s give you a roundup of the Fairs, starting first nearest home, Singapore.

The ever-popular NATAS Travel Fair was held from 23 to 25 March, 2018, at Singapore Expo. This major consumer travel fair in Singapore is popular with travellers shopping for holiday deals and packages. Popular destinations promoted include Taiwan, Korea, Japan, China and Australia, with good interest in Europe too for long-haul trips, in particular, Northern Lights tours. Vietnam received good interest from travellers for short-haul travel.

Team FLA was at NATAS to meet and network with travel companies and also to promote hotels we have in our portfolio. Present at the fair were Chan Brothers, Super Travels, CTC Travel, Dynasty Travel, ASA Holidays, Nam Ho Travel, Hong Thai Travel, EU Holiday, JTB and HIS.

Cruise companies like Royal Carribean, Princess were also present.

On exactly the same dates, TRAVEL REVOLUTION 2018 was held at Marina Bay Sands.

This consumer travel fair focuses on “two-to- go” travel packages and for 2018, the destinations of Taiwan, Korea, Japan and China were promoted for medium-haul travel. Nearby destinations like Vietnam and Indonesia were of interest, whilst for long haul travel, Europe remains popular.

A little further afield in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, our team member Zhi Hoe attended MATTA (Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents) Fair 2018 to meet and catch up with travel players and partners for outbound travel. This was held in PWTC and media numbers put it at around 106,000 visitors over the weekend with sales turnover of travel packages of RM 210 million.

MATTA president Datuk Tan Kok Liang said Asian and European countries remain the most popular, with Japan topping the list. Other top destinations include the UK, China, Taiwan, South Korea and Turkey. (Source: The Sun Malaysia 20 March 2018.)

A little further in Indonesia, Astindo Fair 2018 was held from 2 to 4 March at the Jakarta Convention Centre to promote outbound travel.

FLA Director of Business Development Lawrence Oh was in attendance. In speaking to exhibitors, found that there is not much change to the general interest by travellers from Jakarta. Strong interest remains for Japan, Korea, Australia, UK and France. Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Hong Kong are favourite destinations for short-haul destinations because of affordable air-fares.

Within Indonesia, Bali, Manado, Lombok and Surabaya remain popular.

Frozen Lime Asia met with selected travel companies and they expressed interest to promote the hotels in our portfolio.
